This is my daughter’s first experience at karate training (she was 8). My initial goal was to have her physically active a few times a week and make a few friends in the process. First off, the Sensei’s Alexander and Genesis are the most loving and passionate teachers I have ever seen in any children’s sport (I also have a 21 and 16 year old). I’ve had my experiences with dozens of children’s sports/coaches/teachers. They have quite a profound method of training the children to keep them engaged and working hard while still maintaining a sense of fun. My daughter has been with this dojo for about 7 or 8 months and has excelled much more than I expected. She is more confident in herself and has made tremendous achievements already. This dojo has far exceeded any of my expectations as a parent. Sensei Alexander and Genesis treat every parent with considerable respect and are always willing to talk about questions or concerns. I went to Shotokan Karate Do for my daughter to learn teamwork and new friendships, but this team rises far beyond that, they are a family.
